The Fairview Songbirds is made up of 4th and 5th grade singers. The choir is an extracurricular ensemble that rehearses for forty minutes once a week outside of the school day. Each year 100 to 150 students choose to participate in the ensemble. This is roughly seventy-five percent of the enrolled fourth and fifth graders. The choir performs a variety of music ranging from traditional choral selections to current popular music.
Fairview Songbirds present Broadway Magic

2020 was an extremely important year for the The Fairview Songbirds. The Songbirds were invited to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) Conference which was held at the Tan-Tar-A Conference Center in Osage Beach, MO on January 23, 2020. The president of MMEA, Brian Reeves wrote,
“To perform at MMEA represents the highest statewide honor to which a school music ensemble can aspire. 180 ensembles from around the state applied to perform. The MMEA Conference hosts 3,600 registrants with total foot traffic of 10,000 attendees over the course of the four-day event.”
Of the 180 ensembles that applied, 32 ensembles were chosen, and Fairview was one of ONLY 3 elementary ensembles selected. To say I’m proud of our students is an understatement!!
